DNS monitoring is now available in Scanfully 1.10

Scanfully 1.10 adds yet another important layer to our monitoring service. Introducing DNS monitoring as the main new feature for version 1.10. This release also improves uptime monitoring, email authentication checks, notification categories, plugin vulnerability views, performance graphs, and billing settings.

The goal is straightforward: Scanfully now watches more of the systems around your WordPress site, not just the site response itself.

DNS monitoring

All your sites inside your Scanfully Dashboard now have monitoring enabled for the DNS records of your WordPress sites.

Scanfully

DNS changes can affect uptime, SSL certificates, email delivery, CDN behavior, and domain routing. When something changes, the impact is not always obvious right away. A site may still load from cache, while the underlying DNS setup has already drifted.

The new DNS tracking service includes multi-resolver checks, wildcard detection, propagation checks, CAA checks, DNSSEC checks, SPF checks, and email health scoring.

Scanfully also stores DNS state over time. That makes it easier to see what changed, what was added, what was removed, and when the change happened, and it allows for notifications!

DNS records in the dashboard

The dashboard now includes a DNS records page.

This page shows DNS records in a filterable table. It includes importance icons, health badge tooltips, email health score cards, and an email health drift banner.

This makes DNS issues easier to review without reading raw DNS output.

It also connects DNS changes to email health, which matters for WordPress sites that send password resets, form notifications, order emails, and admin alerts.

Email authentication checks

In version 1.19 we introduced Email Deliverability Monitoring and Scanfully 1.10 adds to this by adding email authentication verdicts to the dashboard.

The new UI includes diagnostic cards for SPF, DKIM, DMARC, MX, MTA-STS, and TLS-RPT.

These checks help show whether a domain is set up correctly for sending and receiving email. They also help detect drift when email-related DNS records change.

This is useful for WordPress sites that rely on transactional email. A small DNS change can affect email delivery, even when the site itself still works.

DNS and email notifications

As mentioned, we have included extra notifications for you to activate inside Scanfully. This means you can now send notifications for DNS and email authentication changes.

Email DNS values

Change notification emails can show added and removed DNS record values. Scanfully also sends recovery notifications when email authentication drift clears.

CAA mismatch recovery notifications were added too. When a previous CAA mismatch is resolved, Scanfully can now notify you that the issue cleared.

CDN-aware uptime monitoring

We didn’t stop there, btw. We have also massively improved our Uptime monitoring as it now understands more CDN-backed setups.

Scanfully 1.10 adds CDN-aware uptime monitoring with check modes, cached-only detection, and warning statuses.

This matters for sites behind enterprise edge cache, such as Servebolt Accelerated Domains, Kinsta, and Rocket.net, for example. A CDN may still serve a cached page while the origin has a problem. Basic uptime checks can miss that distinction.

Per-site uptime options

With our uptime monitoring now CDN-aware, we didn’t stop there. We’ve added a lot of controls to the uptime scanner options per site.

These options include failure thresholds, recovery thresholds, timeout settings, verification behavior, and accepted status codes.

This gives each site more accurate monitoring behavior. Not every WordPress site should use the same uptime rules.

Other improvements

We’ve added several improvements in the Dashboard across the various pages, settings, and options.

Better Graph

The PerformanceGraph now clamps the Y-axis at p95 and shows spike annotations. This makes performance graphs easier to read when a single large spike would otherwise distort the chart.

You can still see that a spike happened, but the rest of the graph remains useful.

Upgraded performance graph

Notification categories

Notification events are now split into clearer categories. Scanfully now groups notifications into uptime, DNS, certificates, and performance.

The dashboard also adds borders on category headers, which makes the notification settings easier to scan.

Plugin vulnerability improvements

The Plugins page now has improved vulnerability views. Rows are collapsible. Vulnerabilities are grouped by severity. The page also includes a breakdown chip, filter chips, unscored merge behavior, and new translation keys.

Vulnerability emails now group issues by plugin and show the highest severity per row.

Scanfully also added a daily full vulnerability cache refresh and a fix that deletes stale vulnerability records before upserting new ones.

Billing update flow

Scanfully 1.10 adds an update payment method flow through a Stripe Checkout setup session.

This gives users a clearer way to update billing details when a payment method changes or expires.

General improvements

This release also includes several smaller fixes:

  • Scanfully now handles DNS change history more safely when added or removed fields are empty. It also preserves prior DNS snapshot values for mid-debounce records, which helps prevent premature pending row deletion.
  • Stale scan progress rows are now removed after site deletion.
  • CAA checks were improved with fixes for issuer matching, deny-all handling, and issuewild behavior.
  • The dashboard also now uses more consistent intro paragraph styling across DNS, Certificate, Health, Plugins, Performance, Timeline, Notifications, Uptime, and Settings pages.

Scanfully 1.10 in short

Scanfully 1.10 adds DNS monitoring and improves several existing monitoring areas. The release gives you more visibility into DNS records, email authentication, uptime behavior, CDN edge cases, plugin vulnerabilities, and performance spikes.

A site can be online while DNS, email, CDN, or certificate-related settings drift in the background. Scanfully 1.10 makes those changes easier to detect, review, and act on.
